Sousepaw: A Baseball Story
written by Jonathan A. Goldberg
“Goldberg’s tense two-hander... is sharply staged. James B. Kennedy is riveting.”
“The show to beat. First Five Star review of the year.”
“James B. Kennedy is outstanding. Jonathan Goldberg’s script is a small jewel. I would see it again and again.”
“Five Stars. Goldberg’s script is a beautifully written character study... making the most of every intimate moment.”
“TREMENDOUS”
“The characters unpeel their lives as one does an onion getting to the inner core of their being. We root for them, feel their pain. ”
Based on the life of Hall-of-Fame pitcher 'Rube' Waddell, Sousepaw: A Baseball Story is a heartbreaking tale set in Texas, 1913. After being thrown out of the majors, 'Rube' has one last shot to make his big comeback, so he hires the Reptile Girl to keep him company - and sober. This play explores their long night of broken promises, secrets, and past regrets.
